Valtteri Bottas talks about the “sobering experience” of visiting Save the Children-supported facilities

Valtteri Bottas I was a busy man before last weekend without incident Mexico City Grand Prixwhen the Finnish driver spent some time with the Early Childhood Education Center in Mexico City, a facility supported by Save the Children.

The visit was due to save the children being Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLENThe official charity partner of Save the Children, an association that has been in existence since 2019. Save the Children is of course the world’s leading children’s rights organization and strives to provide every child in the world with access to quality education but just as safe. With this objective, the company supports the Early Childhood Education Hub in the Mexican capital, which provides support to children from difficult backgrounds and the opportunity for a successful future.

Bottas was lucky enough to visit the facilities and attend one of the center’s HEART (Healing and Education through the Arts) sessions, where the Finnish driver participated in various activities with the children, something that the students will surely never forget. Bottas also unveiled a special helmet that will be auctioned off to raise money for Save the Children; He was also overwhelmed to get a t-shirt from one of the children.


The 33-year-old was delighted to visit the facility, which he described as a “sobering experience”.

“Being able to see first-hand what Save the Children is doing in the community was an important experience. No matter what background they come from, all children have the same needs and it is important that they have the same opportunities.

“The early years of a child’s development are the most important for their future life and this support can make a difference. Seeing the impact these projects are having in real life is humbling and I’m glad we can raise funds to help Save the Children run more activities like this around the world.”
