Mumbai’s air quality remains in the ‘poor’ category, AQI at 293

Mumbai’s general air quality index (AQI) remained in the “poor” category on Monday morning.

According to the Air Quality Research and Forecasting System (SAFAR), the city registered an AQI of 293 on Monday morning.

According to SAFAR, an AQI between 0 and 50 is called “good”, between 51 and 100 is “satisfactory”, between 101 and 200 is considered “moderate”, between 201 and 300 is “poor”, with a reading in the range of 301-400 is ‘Very Poor’ while an AQI measure of 400+ is labeled ‘Severe’.

On Monday’s SAFAR dashboard, Colaba and Mazagaon posted an AQI of 290, followed by 283 at Malad and 280 at Chembur. BKC saw an AQI of 266 and Bhandup showed an AQI of 211. Worli and Andheri had an AQI of 183, followed by 100 in Borivali.
